On Being with Krista Tippet
After twenty years of conversations with luminaries like Mary Oliver, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Desmond Tutu, Krista Tippett’s Peabody Award-winning show turned to the podcast realm. I joined the production to help guide its relaunch as a seasonal podcast. We had an incredible season, narrated by some of the most innovative voices of our time. We began the season with psychology professor Dacher Keltner, then spoke with creatives like U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón, Comedian Nick Offerman, Music Producer Rick Rubin, and others before rounding out the season with U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy at ONAir Fest in Brooklyn. Although On Being is an interview-style show, the production operates like a narrative one with scripting, detailed story editing, and group listening sessions where each episode is carefully constructed for a deeply thoughtful and meditative listening experience with a beginning, middle, and end. As we produced new episodes, we also dove into twenty years of archival audio to pull excerpts to reintroduce to the world.

Reels Library
Leading up to the relaunch of the show, I helped conceive a strategy that leaned on both the show’s loyal community of listeners and archive tape from the show’s 20-year run. We curation a library of 25 favorite moments from the show, featuring audio excerpts from past guests like Ocean Vuong, Esther Perel, and Mary Oliver. From these excerpts, I produced Instagram Reels, so that our audience could use our sound for their own videos promoting the show's new season.

Excerpts and Practices
One of our goals was to approach On Being’s digital strategy with thought, beauty, and meaning. Along with the Art Director, I helped produce excerpts of our episodes as TikToks and Instagram Reels. We combined moments of rich thought with imagery of the natural world to encourage people to slow down and reflect with us.

Moments of Reflection
On Being encourages listeners to slow down, tune out the noise of modern life, and sit with long, thoughtful conversations. Part of my role was ensuring that our social strategy aligned with those goals. Along with the Art Director, I produced weekly content designed not only to promote each episode but to encourage people to pause their scrolling and engage more deeply with On Being.
